| On October 3, 2007, JP was doing concrete masonry on the 10th floor of a Manhattan high rise when a runaway steel beam hit him in the jaw and knocked him off the scaffold. His supervisors sent him home, but JP knew he needed stitches and went to a local hospital. Stitched up, he returned to work the next day — even though he was still sore and in pain.
